The team at Oakwood Academy is made up of professionals from varying educational, social service and health disciplines.  Oakwood employs individuals who have knowledge and experience working with children and youth with developmental delays related to communication and social interaction.  Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with a clinical team.  Candidates should have experience working in a school and/or clinical setting and commitment to professional development is critical.

Current Openings:

CLASSROOM TEACHER

Title: Classroom Teacher
Location: Mississauga, On
Employment Type: 2017 School Year
Oakwood is currently looking for qualified classroom teachers
As a Classroom Teacher, you will:

  • Teach in a 1:4 or 1:8 ratio classroom (SK- Grade 8)
  • Assess students and create an Individual Education Plan for each student.
  • Prepare developmentally appropriate teaching and learning resources.
  • Collaborate with clinical team.
  • Participate in professional development as related to the DIR® Model.
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • University Degree
  • OCT qualified and in good standing
  • Knowledge or certification in the DIR® Model

DEVELOPMENTAL INSTRUCTOR THERAPIST

Title: Instructor Therapist

Oakwood is currently looking for qualified Developmental Instructor Therapists.
As a Developmental Therapist, you will:

  • Teach in a 1:1, dyad or small group model.
  • Assess students and create an Individual Education Plan for each student.
  • Prepare developmentally appropriate teaching and learning resources.
  • Collaborate with clinical team.
  • Participate in professional development as related to the DIR® Model.
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • University Degree or College Diploma.
  • Knowledge or certification in the DIR® Model
